This is a 2.5-mile hike to the Cedar Rock summit with 1,600ft of elevation gain through beautiful Pisgah Forest. Three sections require easy scrambling over rock — hand lines will be set up to keep the challenge manageable for all skill levels. The views become breathtaking as you ascend, and the summit feels like a postcard few visitors ever discover. After soaking in the views and snapping photos, the descent follows a scenic forest trail with no ropes required. The full experience is 5 miles round trip, and we can stop at Oskar Blues brewery for a victory beer at the end!
Hiking tours are ages 7 and up and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Cancel up to 5 days in advance for a FULL refund. If you are unable to attend, we appreciate if you let us know so that we are not delaying the start time of the trip waiting for your arrival. If you cancel less than 5 days and we are able to fill your seat, we will issue a refund.
We will cancel tours if there are dangerous weather conditions, but we will still proceed if there is a chance of inclement weather. We provide all the necessary gear to keep participants comfortable. If you do not want to hike in light rain or the cold, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance allows you to cancel your reservation for any reason up until the start time of your tour.
We meet at Walmart Parking lot: 177 Forest Gate Dr, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768. We will carpool to the trailhead from there. It is a 30 minute drive from Walmart.
